I do agree with you some here.
Just remember that most programmers are driven from the field at about 50 to 55 years old anyway. You know, where they lay off everyone in the department and start a new department where everyone hired is under 35. It's great because they get to bone everyone out of retirement benefits as well as lowering salaries and getting people who are stupidly willing to work 70 hour weeks to "get experience in the field". So the retirements won't be as noticable as in some other fields.

The thing that is going to save us is the fact that enrollment in college computer programs is falling through the basement.
