memorial day memories
The past and future of the computer is a story of less import than the history of our freedom and the folks who died to preserve it. To ignore the past is to be doomed to repeat it. The history of medicine, genomics, etc, is perhaps the only more important contributor to the future of our race than the computer. I think Memorial day is an excellent time to thank the "founders" of our modern world from RCA, Bell Labs, IBM, and the others who brought us punch cards, the 7094, 360,apple,2, 2+, 2e, pc, mac, cray and others, whose fruits we enjoy because of the sacrifices of our men and wemen in uniform
