How about these options?
1) Microsoft has dropped the ball, and lost share because of it
2) People tried Microsoft, then realized that Google and Yahoo were better
3) Google and Yahoo have dialed up their effort
4) It's all just a wobble and the whole up and then down thing for Microsoft means nothing in terms of their market share in the long term
