BREATHTAKING IGNORANCE
So several of the open source programmers I spoke to, who think software development should be a collaborative effort and that controlling forces like Microsoft stifle the industry... several of those "open standards" people I know in real life... also say "congress sold us out". So we're open and free until it hurts us in the pocket.

Nobody here mentioned COMPETING. Some of you are too young to remember, but the same exact thing happened with Japanese cars in the early 80's. They could do it cheaper and better. KNOW WHAT??? It made US better. It made their wages go up so they were in line with ours (no longer "cheap" labor).

Nobody here mentioned TAKING A STAND. Do you own a foreign car? Do you shop at Walmart? Where were the pieces to your computer made. Hypocrits.

Competition is healthy. If you don't understand that, try taking some business classes as well as some history. It makes EVERYONE stronger. It's capitalism at it's best. Don't rail against it because you want to keep playing fooseball at your Internet company for a cushy salary.

Get off your ass and COMPETE. Learn, adapt, and overcome. If foreigners become stronger, they will have money to buy software and services that WE MAKE. WAKE UP.
