Maybe you shouldn't buy the crap 1980's surplus from the dollar store, cheapskate.

I have 2 identical lamps in my house. Loaded one with CFL and one with standard incandescent: after the initial warm up period of (oh a horrendous! 30 seconds where there is light, but not full stregth) Nobody I've asked has been able to distinguish one from the other in both color or brightness.

Oh and my CFLs were under $2.00 each. Given the savings in energy costs and far longer life span I'm actually paying far less and don't have to bother changing bulbs as often.

So much for your protest.
