Free TV clips for pay?
I'm a new YouTuber and love the service, My own thoughts have always been as a home taping time shifter, it only makes sense with everyone's own timetable to be able to view content, and if TV shows are old enough and never released to DVD, why can we never get to see some lost exerpt due to copyright on content that has long since been broadcast and paid for or was free TV to begin with?? If the person was a newsteam member as in this case, he was already paid from his employer, The footage fees by other news services is good sense, but on YouTube most clips are like anyone's bootlegs, worn down, poor quality, limited length, out of sync, etc. I wouldn't pay for poor video unless there was a REAL good reason! There was a major brew over taxing blank audio cassettes, that never amounted to much, but DAT tape suffered due to legal problems, and it proved to be a boon for musicians, but forgotten by general public. To me, the practice inplace is already bothersome to users looking for clips, but it is fair enough I feel.
