Knowing who posted something doesn't matter
Even if you can find out who put something on YouTube, that still doesn't answer the questions YouTube would need answered--who holds the copyright, and is the file up there with permission?

Is the home movie of some guy dropping watermelons off the roof of a high building posted there by the copyright holder, or was it posted by someone who didn't have permission? How are you going to identify the guy in the video, how are you going to know who filmed it and who owns the copyright, and how are you going to know if that's the person at the IP address you've traced the submission to?
