A bit on some of those issues

"DRM" - Well, personally I've never used Microsoft's music stuff, so I really am not affected by this.

"lack of driver support" - very much improved since its release - I've been getting driver updates that have been improving support. This will probably be a non-issue by the end of this year.

"incompatibility" - actually, I've never encountered any compatibility issues other than driver issues. All of my previous software, including my games, work fine.

"bugs" - It's actually pretty stable on my system. I'd say it has no more (and perhaps less) bugs than XP had at release. For a new OS, I think it's pretty stable.

FYI, most people won't upgrade until they buy a new computer anyways. That's how it's been for a long time, and Microsoft's enthusiasm about the new OS won't change that.

I think a lot of people are probably going to wait for the first service pack anyways. Most everybody knows that a new OS is going to have issues, so they're going to wait for a few months for all of the major issues to be sorted out.

Basically, this is a new OS. This is no different from any other new OS getting released. Happened to 95 and XP also.
