Very Simple Idea
1) Create something nobody has (New variation of Barcode)
2) Market it to everyone, make them think they have to have it.
3) Make sure the bar code reader requires only Microsoft product to work.
4) We have lock in.

Time between step 2 and 3 maybe a couple of years to get every one to use it.
