Corporate welfare is another myth!
>You need income tax? End corporate welfare. Lets see, highest corporate profits ever recorded, lowest taxable income in history. Gee, anyone else see a problem here???

Yes, but the problem I see is a serious of factually-challenged statements, reflecting liberal propaganda. Here are the facts:

1) ANY TAX ON CORPORATIONS WILL BE PASSED ON TO THE CONSUMER, AND THUS IS A TAX ON THE GENERAL POPULATION.

2) IF THE CORPORATION CANNOT PASS THE TAX ON TO THE CONSUMER, IT WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS, CREATING MONOPOLIES AND SHORTAGES, WHICH WILL INCREASE CONSUMER PRICES, AND THUS BE A TAX ON THE CONSUMER.

3) CORPORATE PROFITS ARE NOT AT AN ALL TIME HIGH, ESPECIALLY WHEN EXPRESSED AS A PERECENTAGE OF INCOME INVESTED.

4) IF YOU THINK CORPORATIONS ARE DOING SO WELL, YOU CAN PURCHASE THEIR STOCK, AND SHARE IN THE PROFITS (AND RISK).

5) TAXABLE INCOME IS NOT AT AN ALL-TIME LOW, BUT RATHER AN ALL-TIME HIGH, BECAUSE...

6) THE VARIOUS TAX CUTS THAT WE'VE HAD IN THE LAST 20 YEARS HAVE STIMULATED THE ECONOMY, PRIOVIDED ADDITIONAL JOBS, AND RESULTED IN RECORD TAXABLE INCOME, AS WELL AS RECORD TAX REVENUES FOR THE GOVERNMENT.

7) UNFORTUNATELY, DESPITE THE BOOM, CONGRESS CONTINUES TO FIND NEW WAYS OF SPENDING THE MONEY, AND THUS REQUIRES ADDITIONAL REVENUES.

8) THE 'TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH' THAT WE KEEP HEARING ABOUT HAVE RESULTED IN THE LOWEST TAX RATES IN 50 YEARS FOR THE INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYER. A MARRIED COUPLE WITH ONE CHILD CAN NOW EARN $20,900 WITHOUT PAYING ANY INCOME TAX. CONTRAST THAT WITH THE EXHORBITANT TAXES WHICH WERE LEVIED BEFORE THE REPUBLICANS CAME TO TOWN.

However, repealing the 16th Amendment, and thus the income tax, would do more good for this country than anything else.
