Food and Birth Control

I think that effort spent to procure food, birth control, medicine and education is the most effective use of resources in third world contries.

Computers are way down the priority list in my mind.

Death by Malaria and Aids should be bigger concerns. Eating and getting a means of providing for myself should be a close second. I'll bet they would sell the computer to eat.

I have a friend who worked there on a oil rig. Besides it being a fact that a sizable amount of computer fraud cases come from Nigeria, I am told that the corruption level (gov't especially) is high there. Supposedly it is not only tolerated but accepted.

Why not help these people focus on what will improve their country (like reducing the birth rate and crime) instead of giving them computers?

I am not interested in politically correct banter, lets look at the facts and concentrate on some well thought out positive improvement.
