The Real Lesson
LinuxLover74,

You need to get your head out of the sand! MS Windows is about 90-95% of all PC's and slamming them does absolutely no good to anyone, except other LINUX biggots or Mac biggots. (A biggot is one who is all one way and for no or very little rationale.)

I will not profess to be a MS lover since they do have security problems, and OS problems in general. But it has awarded the masses to have a powerful tool in their home as well as at the office. The solution is to get MS to stand up to what it takes to make a real OS, both in stability and security. They have done great at advancing the stability with XP, and still have a long way to go to make real strides in the security arena.

But simply to condem them and suggest everyone move to Linux is more than rather ridiculous. Mac lovers have tried to do this for 10 years or more, and their market share simply continues to dwindle. While Linux isn't dwindling since it is a fairly new comer, but rather has been expanding, mainly due to the expense of other UNIX systems and the ever growing cost of NT (XP Professional today). But read the many reports on the true cost of Linux vs. Windows and you will be amazed!

And lastly, if you are running a server in a back office or IT center with almost no applications, then Linux has a spot in the current world, but if you are talking about a productivity tool, then there is no comparison at all and the Windows world wins hands down.
