Every day the world's economy...
is wasting resources trying to survive using Windows Operating Systems. These wasted resources are now well into the billions of dollars. No other products have every presented such danger to the consumer. While I would say hang those who have written all the malware that exploits MS flaws, the fact that it is 18 year old amateurs picking apart the expensive, written by paid professionals Windows Operating System platform has to say something about the real quality and value of Windows. In any other industry, this simply would not have been tolerated and all of this non-sense would have never gone this far.

This problem is only getting worse. Patches are not "fixes". Current patches have many times opened more holes down the road. And the "promise" of a new operating system down the road is no comfort. Each new OS, as it's size grew, so did the implimentation issues. XP has simply been the most painful of all.

If you are a home user, you don't directly experience these wasted resources. But you can bet that the costs of things you purchase are going to increase to absorb the cost of every bit of wasted resources.

The toll just keeps rising.
