- And the real problem is?
-
When has Microsoft ever released a mature product?
I've always hated to use Microsoft products except for non
critical applications. Why? Because their products, at best,
work "most of the time". They are "consumer" products,
like toys. And like toys, we play with them. We say "oooo"
and "ahhh" and "isn't that fun!". Until they break. Then we
go and buy a new toy to play with.
It appears that the world has accepted poor performance as
the norm, and that being said ... we have articles like this
which are about treating symptoms instead of causes.
To address the cause, one must demand performance. If
the current supplier can't perform then one must buy
elsewhere or build their own.
We all know Microsoft's predatory nature. Haven't we seen
great products die as a result? Products that 'worked' were
forced out and toys put in their place.
Frankly, I can't fathom an airline using a toy for a critical
application. A coast gaurd grounded?
What's the proper response?
Homer Simpson's "Dohh!"?
Kurt Vonnegut Jr.'s "So it goes."?
or
Donald Trump's "You're fired!"? - Posted by: dgoris Posted on: 05/12/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
