Killing H1B Is The Only Way
This bill _would_ be good if it were followed. It won't be.

Currently, there's langauge in the H1B Visa legislation that requires that H1B's be paid the prevailing wage. Are they? Of course not.

This legislation will be ignored. The unwilling government labor department under the Republican administration will do nothing to enforce the provisions of this bill. Further, the not-as-smart-as-our-union-forming-ancestors IT and engineering workers will continue to fail to form and join unions which are the only entities that would have an agenda to sue the socks off those industries that ignore the law.

I work for the government (thank Heavens!) During the 1980s, the office of personnel management illegally capped certain engineering salaries. The US Treasury Dept's union sued. I received two fairly nice checks for that settlement in 2004 and 2005. With no union, management (the government) would have gotten away with ignoring the law. So will it be if this bill is passed. Nothing will change. There will be no enforcement from any corner.

And it's the fault of those that will not help themselves, by banding together in a union / guild / whatever you want to call it.
