CEO pay
Actually the average CEO's yearly compensation is 400x the average worker's salary. In 2006, Goodyear's CEO made $17 million, 4x more than any of the other executives, all while forcing the employees to take a cut in health coverage and benefits (not to mention closing a plant), all in the name of "staying competitive". A big chunk of his compensation was "bonus" - Bonus for what? The company actually LOST money in 06.

What people don't realize is that stockholders of publically traded companies have no power or discretion in setting or appealing executive compensations. What Henry Ford learned long ago, when he wanted to reinvest his company's profits back into his burgeoning company, is that stockholders get paid first. Current stockholders need to use that legal decision to their benefit.
