EFF looking for a lifeline?
Based on the information provided in the story, particularly with respect to what YouTube has said, it looks like Viacom is not the villain here. EFF is suing over an action that both YouTube and Viacom are indicating did not happen.

Now, one wonders why EFF would falsely accuse Viacom. Could be that they were duped by someone preying on their anti-corporate credulity? That they need money and hope for an out-of-court settlement? Or that they need some publicity to avoid sinking into irrelevance and obscurity?
