Viacom is not being sued for copyright infringement. They are being sued for using copyright law improperly to stifle free speech. It's not even about money. It's about a persons ability make use of fair use rights under copyright law. Sure there is dollar amount as there must in civil case but it's not based on profits potentially made. It's based on Viacom trampling another persons rights. These types of cases generally do award large amounts to punish the offender.
