yes, you're right. Microsoft relies on thick clients.
Thick clients are their future.
And their search engine and vista need the most power to run, and so are the most "powerful". Just the other day I saw a bunch of people looking at Vista in a store and going "wow" at the price. (presumably an future indication of how reasonable the price is for the consumer)

Can you imagine how efficient we will all be when we no longer talk over lunch, but squirt each other from our IM/Zune.
Happy days.
