Layoffs
I'm not taking sides, but lots of people are fired like that every day. At my last job it happened all the time. It's been a while since they closed the CompUsa store here in my town, but when it was open, most of the people who worked there seemed like half-trained register jockeys, they couldn't even tell me what kind of memory my computer needed, instead advising me to bring it in so they could take a look. Anybody who can run a register can get a job at Wal Mart or a grocery store. They should be glad that they no longer have to work at a second-rate "computer store".
