Why do we want innovation and invention at all?
To improve the quality of our lives and expand our abilities.

We obviously want to encourage both invention and innovation for these reasons, but for the greater good not at the expense of it.

The current system needs a complete overhaul.

The things that really spur innovation, like quality education and the freedom to take the ideas around you and combine them in new ways, are not supported and are in fact neglected and discouraged.

The current patent system is not about innovation incentive so much as it is about profit and control. That is why the corporations have taken it over for the most part.

I don't have the answers, but some are needed.
