That's me.

It is true that a lot of software is patented that should not be because the USPTO doesn't have sufficient software programmers to recognize prior art.

Microsoft's official position is nature of software is commonly misunderstood and thus thought to be patentable. I agree.

It's not so much as software gets patented because examiners are idiots as software should not be patented. And now MS says so, too.
