Great start!
I applaud your message, and much of your thinking. I too am somewhat perplexed as to why SOMEONE, ( Dell, HP, MS, that embraces the inclusion of hardware and software OTHER than their own) hasnt come up with a viable HOME computer/entertainment/energy/security/finance system that we can use, RELY upon, and expand as our needs and disposable income rise.

I also concur that Dell might want to look at their business model to reach more of the home user market. Profit margins are razor thin not only on business products, but on the consumer front as well.

However, if the market potential for the home user is much greater in number anyway, than that of the commerical market.

A product that would allow the families in those cities that offer free or low-cost wi-fi, to purchase a low-cost computer would open the door to literally millions of sales.

Further, the socio-economic impact of allowing those who have been economically disenfranchised from the internet would serve a much greater purpose, and answer a much greater need than just that of Michael Dell's company.
