MS didn't have to settle
They could have fought to the bitter end on principle, but they appear to have decided that the evidence being produced by opposing counsel was too embarrassing. But if there's nothing wrong with doing whatever it takes (short of physical violence or fraud) to preserve one's dominant position, then I'm sure that all of it was completely defensible, as long as people can be persuaded that prevailing notions of fair competition are completely unworkable and should be discarded.

It's quite possible that your real quarrel is with the law as it stands and the public attitudes that underly it.

Surely you, at least, are up to the task.
