Software is now rushed out to meet market pressures
You hit the nail on the head with the the comment that "Software is now rushed out to meet market pressures." My boss (the CEO) used to tell me "Install the software! We'll fix it later!" which is why it had bugs and why there was never enough time to properly test the software. I don't believe it is the programmer's fault, it is management's fault. They refuse to manage, and refuse to take responsibility for bugs. How long to you think I would have lasted at my job if I had replied, "No. The software isn't leaving my office until I am certain there are no bugs." I would have been fired that day.
