I would also say the same about OO programming
While interesting in it's own way, it tends to produce code bloat and obfustication to constructs.

With OO you now have to be consered with how a change will affect children and grandchildren. etc ad-nauseum.

While it is sometimes nice to have the compiler tell you that you are not dealing with the same types of objects, it makes for more stupid programmers who rely on it as a crutch to carefull programming.

After hearing this from many sides your code has to understood by _everybody_ who later has to work on it.

It may not be programming for the lowest common denomiator, but you need to program for the most common people.
