No help as long as bean-counters exist
The accountants want to see some really ridiculous low-cost solutions, but insist that the company get someone with "paper" to solve it. This is usually in spite of the internal IT people who have worked the problem for however long and already know what is needed, but may not have a cute little MSCE on their business cards.

People are too easily impressed by certificates and not by skill. My former high school boyfriend went back to school recently to get a degree in computer science. Guess who he calls for real-life help?
