Yes, but

To get a warrant you have to show you have good reason. A law agency can't just walk in with a list of names and get automatic warrants to wiretap. This is what the administration has been trying to get around and what the FBI is doing. They think due to the war or terrorism, which is a joke, they should be allowed to do whatever 'they' think needs to be done without having to report to anybody. Islam extremists may have a lot of hate, but you need more than hate to bring down governments and societys. This 'threat' is blown all out of proportion and used as a cover for what the real reason is for this war on terrorism. It gives the US 'just cause' to get as much military as close to the Mideast oil fields as it can. And while they're at and have the public, which never has done much to question what its "leaders" tell them, scared to death of the Islamic overthrow, they'll take whatever else they can get away with, even if it means trashing a few rights in the process. When I think I voted for these nazi's the first time around -- should have had my head examined.
