oh boy....
I'll ignore the last paragraph since I was speaking generally and not specifically to you, just listing examples of things people try to hide...

As for the rest....sure i'll tell you....

"If this administration was and is so concerned about our protection and safety, then tell me why they ignored all the warnings that led up to 9/11?"
-- Because if they did, the liberal media would have attacked them from the other direction..."You were too agressive" and "How did you get that information?" I'm sure it wasn't by following the rules to which this article refers. It was SPYING and INTERROGATION. Some of it on other countries, some of it on ourselves. This point is silly since if you took away the monitoring tools they have that you dispise, they wouldnt have even had the information to act upon in the first place.

To your second point, "The administration along with the media has people so scared that we're going to be "standing on a pile of rubble", that the people of this country have allowed this government to do whatever it wants, and even agrees to the constitution being ignored. It's total BS people."
-- Ok, lets say we do cripple the government protection agencies...guess what? You just paved the way for some terrorist to communicate with his buddy cells and blow up your kids' school. Nice, good job.
Like I said, there is a balance. They need to be able to protect us from the meanies of the world who have no regard for the rules, while not being so militant as to make good, law abiding Americans suffer.

I love this one: "Who is more unpatriotic? The man who loves his country, sees something amiss and strives to do something, or the man who loves his country and turns a blind eye to anything thats wrong..."
-- You are asking the government to turn a blind eye to criminal activities because they might have access to your emails or know what web sites you've visited? Sorry, I don't think that is a fair trade.
Also, you are focussed on being AGAINST your own country when there are plenty of bad guys looking to kill us and destroy our country who should be the focus of our attention.

Finally: "...I know its hard for conservative thinkers who have a real hard time sticking to the argument when they actually have none...."
-- Sticking to the arguement? There is no arguement, just opinions. I think that since I don't do anything illegal with my computer/internet access, I don't care if the government stores some of that information in the interests of catching bad guys. Its a small sacrifice (compared to our founding fathers and soldiers along the way) that I am willing to make for freedom. (although I did do 2 tours in the first gulf war)

If the gov't goes too far, we'll correct them. Between us concerned citizens, the media and good folks like yourself, we can keep them in check. I mean seriously...you think something like the movie "The Siege" could actually happen? who would enforce it? Our miltary and police force has more minorities than it does plain old caucasion folks. They'd never let it happen. They would refuse to enforce it. We are all Americans, be politician, police, military or tax paying citizen. There are millions and millions of us. We won't let it happen and nobody can force it on us. That is what ensures our way of life.

The American Way requires protection and the more avenues we create for unmonitored communications, the more we need to be able to ensure the meanies don't use that 'free, private communications' against us.
