MDA cannot replace pure programmig. "Three Amigos" although setting standards and putting a lot of valuable scientific work are wrong. Modeling is a different species and base algorithms are not part of it. Also modelling does not address many other issues like for example infrastructure (only partially this issue is addressed in modeling).

I bleive that it was scientifically proven that no program can write program by itself. There has to be human interaction that puts some wisdom into it. Model shows only the most important aspects of business. It is never detailed enough. Also modelling puts things in very abstract terms which is very good to undertstand problems and solutions of domain, but they are never detailing technical issues as they are never meant to do so.

I bet that modelling is a vehicle to communication and it can replace a lot of old traditional methods of development, but it will never allow to write complete software.
