Why are we discussing CO2 at all?
CO2 is not a poison, or a pollutant. It's an essential trace gas that is necessary as the basis for all food production on the face of this Earth. Anyone remember this formula?

6 CO2 + 12 H2O + light → C6H12O6 + 6 O2 + 6 H2O

or

carbon dioxide + water + light → glucose + oxygen + water

If you said "Hey, that's photosynthesis," you're right! Carbon dioxide is used as an accelerant to the growing cycle in greenhouses (actual greenhouses, unlike the atmosphere), where CO2 levels are deliberately increased to between 700ppmv and 1,000ppmv to increase yield and to aid in water utilization. "CO2 feeds the forests, grows more usable lumber in timber lots meaning there is less pressure to cut old growth or push into "natural" wildlife habitat, makes plants more water efficient helping to beat back the encroaching deserts in Africa and Asia and generally increases bio-productivity. If it's "pollution," then it's pollution the natural world exploits extremely well and to great profit."

But you're going to say, "But it's man's release of CO2 that's causing global warming." That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Humans can only account for 3.4% of the total carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The rest is natural. And CO2 has such a negligible effect on the greenhouse cycle that a doubling of atmospheric CO2 would not mean much in terms of warming the atmosphere. The largest contributors to the greenhouse effect are water vapor and clouds, making up all together about 90% of the Earth's greenhouse effect. The rest comes from carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, ozone and other miscellaneous gases. In effect, changing the relative humidity 2-4% would have the same impact on warming as a doubling of atmospheric CO2. And that's ALL CO2, not just the CO2 produced by humans, which is a very small (3.4%) percentage.

The whole argument for global warming is based on incorrect assumptions to start with. The Earth is not a closed system; we do not function like a greenhouse at all. At worst, the greenhouse effect slows the transition of long-wave energy on its journey out of the atmosphere into space. It does not create a closed cycle, like a greenhouse. Sorry for coming down on all the "experts," but it's much ado about nothing.
