liquid/solid conversion fails the common sense test
Energy is liberated from burning solid (coal) or liquid (oil) carbon-based polymers. Solid or liquid sequestration of C02 involves reversing the combustion chemical reaction. Common sense suggests that it will take about as much energy to reverse the reaction as was liberated by the reaction. Better to leave it in the ground.
