There is no constitutional right to privacy.
Look it up, 'taint there.

Right now, the authorities can obtain records of your incoming and outgoing phone calls easily, and get court authorization to actually listen in, or to open your snail mail. So why should making the communication computer-based provide any additional "rights"? All that they are asking is that the communications be preserved, not that they be revealed without a court order.

A lessson learned long ago, and it's long past time everyone understood it: Never put anything into email that you wouldn't want to hear read back in court. Email and online chats are merely technological variations on snail mail and telephone calls, and bequeath no special "privacy" privileges on their users that aren't already available for other forms of communication -- and that can be suspended by court action (wiretap authority, search warrants).

This is reality; learn to live with it.
