O.T. Re-inventing the wheel.
I know it's a bit off topic but in someway it's not. Young people today seem to refuse to look at the past for solutions to modern problems. I don't mean that to be cruel, it's just a statement about what I see everyday. There almost seems to be a resentment of past solutions to current problems. Maybe it's the old "not invented here" syndrome or maybe it's an ego thing, my bet is though is that no one has sat them down and explained "there is nothing new under the sun', especially when it comes to human nature and applying it to everyday situations.

If I (or you) invented space travel today, tomorrow a human being (being a human) will find a way to use it to their advantage and to the dis-advantage of others. Some will do so illegally, some will do it out of greed, and some will do it just because they can. (Think nuke bombs.)

The fact of it is, it isn't the fault of technology or the internet, it's that we as a society haven't yet decided the internet is valuable enough to hand out serious and deterring punishment to those that mis-use it. The solutions are there folks, and they come from the fact we as a race, have been through this millions of times. Now if only the young folks would bother to look at them...
