I wish MS would do the same. There is nothing in the patent that isn't covered in [url=http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/spiderhks/#top]Spidering Hacks[/url], a compendium of 100 hacks to repurpose web content, including RSS, and published two full years before Microsoft's patent application.

From the back cover of my dog-eared copy:
"Finding data on the Internet is only the first step. Before it is truly useful, the data must be retieved and extracted from the web pages in which it is embedded. Once you've got your hands on the raw data, you can repurpose it to suit your needs or combine it with other data..."

MS has invented nothing it claims in the patent. It stole every last idea.
