Microsoft should just tell their supporters what RSS is
Microsoft loyals don't know what RSS is. The patent at least means legals will know. And once they do they will want Wiki.

Microsoft SharePoint document management is so far behind. Wiki document managment means that the FireFox or IE 7 users know when there has been an update and new version.

A mandate for government is that revision history be kept for at least 3 years on all regulations and policies. This makes it easier for legals to represent. Same should be true with corporations. Does it make any sense at all to have employment polices when managment and employees don't know when the policy changes? RSS feeds mean that those who care know. Lawyers will know when the law for their specialty has been changed. Its just so fundamental to Web 2.0 and of course obvious.

Lets remind all that Netscape.com has used RSS sever side since prior to the Microsoft Anti-trust case and that FireFox has had RSS for quite some time now. This patent filing is a nice inexpensive way for Microsoft to get the word out on the benefits of RSS. I expect next year I will not have to explain why it is so wrong not to encourage IE 7 and prohibit FireFox.

FeedDemon, looks to be salvation for shops whoes managment have prohibited both IE 7 and FireFox. Very timely article.
