GAWD I love the smell of FUD in the morning: Yes folks I said FUD. The feds still have to get a warrent to "tap" conversations. The feds still have to go to a judge to acquire the tap. This is no different than telco taps. For those that are so worried that the Feds are going to spy on their chat sessions with their girl friends etc, please tell me of one PERSONAL instance where the feds have abused this power. The feds are not my worry; it is hackers etc. If the back door is created then if the good guys can use it then so can the bad guys.

I love all the FUD I see in ZDNET talkback when an issue such as this is raised. Wanna worry about your privacy. Hmmm let's see what I can find out with just a license plate number. Your home address. Your telephone number. Oh yeah how much you paid in city taxes, whether you voted Dem or Republican. How many are in your family. have you gotten a traffic citation btter yet a conviction. That is just a start of what can be found out in public records. Let's see, is your doctor or pharmacy throwing away paper with your personal info on it? Are you throwing away info that can be used? Amazing what can be found dumpster diving. Is the restraunt that you used your Visa card in throwing away records with your Visa number on it?
