Interesting article, but it's missing one key point...
of the snippets i received in my ZDNet mailer today, your article on Zune is the one which finally coerced me to click. i thought i might learn a bit about Zune, as in -- what it is, who makes it (or is "Zune" just a Zune), where i might get one, and what i might expect to pay for a Zune. without the inclusion of those key characteristics, the author's decision to take for granted that every reader is indeed on top of the Zune wave did leave me a little disappointed.

i do apologize for expressing an unpopular viewpoint, but it is for the good of ZDNet. realizing of course that your target audience may have a high likelihood of awareness on this issue, you remain yet a trusted source of information for the very culture on which you report, and should take careful consideration when omitting such elements.

then again, what do i know! wink
