Advice if you find yourself in this situation
I am saddened by the Kim's loss. Having lost my father recently, I am all to aware
of how devastating a loss this will be to the family. My prayers are with them, the
next few years will be rough ones.

I stronly encourage his colleages to call or visit Mrs. Kim and not forget her. A
simple hello over the next few years will work wonders for her. I know it did for
my mother.

Now for some advice........

Never leave your car unless absolutely necessary!

Your car is much easier to spot than you are.

Start a BIG SMOKEY FIRE (try not to burn the forest around you). Spare tires make
lots of smoke, as do green pine boughs.

Always carry something to start a fire. ALWAYS.

I live in Wyoming, 97,870 sq. miles and less than 500,000 people. You learn at a
very early age to respect the wilderness. People from more civilized areas are not
aware of the dangers. Every year people die due to simple things like being alone,
getting lost, not realizing that you can get hypothermia in July, and these are
natives. I'm not even going to get into things like Grizzley bears, Mountain Lions,
Rattle snakes, Brown Recluse spiders, and other critters.

Please, if you are unfamiliar with surviving in the wilderness, take time to get to
know the basics before venturing in to the area.
