Snow Bound
This is a very good example for staying put when stranded. While a vehicle may run out of gas it can still provide protection from wind, snow, rain and predatory animals both two and four legged. I understand Mr. Kim's desire to find help for his family and I hope the best outcome for all of them.

Never go into an area that has potential for stranding you without supplies intended for just for that scenario. Sleeping bags, Ready to eat meals (MRI's) and matches to build a fire both for warmth and as a signal source should be in the vehicle especially in the winter months and more especially in high country winter months.
