This is why the 7 P's are paramount!

Keep food, water and an emergency blanket in your car. Tell someone you can trust, where you are travelling what route you are travelling and your ETA. If you haven't arrived in 24 hours then a search can be made with a higher probability of being found.

NEVER LEAVE YOUR CAR!!! Start a smokey fire, there are rangers looking for these things.

It's good to hear the wife and kids are safe... but knowing the Oregon forests (I have spent a lot of time backpacking out there) chances are slim and gettin slimmer that the father will be found alive. Get angry if you will, but good intentions can kill if they are not supported by logic, reason and experience as well as the 7 P's.

My hopes are they find him alive and well. But there are many dangers out there. Good luck.
