The only thing more annoying than doing a press proof with a print buyer that is color blind, is reading comparisons of media platforms that are based on the user experience of the player, and ignoring the quality of the codecs themselves.

RealMedia has been, and still is the best quality of audio and video in relation to the size of the content being delivered.

When Apple or Microsoft come up with an audio codec for example, in the 11k range that sound anywhere near as good as the Real 8.5k voice codec, then I will consider those platforms.

In the meantime I'll continue to receive compliments and questions on how our department is able to deliver high quality video clips that rarely choke in the "real" world.

Also, when Quicktime learns how to do Windows, and Windows Media learns how to run on the Mac, and visa versa to both, then I'll consider them.

It would be nice to get reviews from people who actually have to do this for a living, since streaming media is certainly the most susceptible to "dog & pony show" misdirection, not to mention "conventional wisdom."
