The EU lawsuit wasn't just about Real
It had as much to do with Apple as Real but the real (no pun intended) truth is it has to do with anyone in the future trying to do something new. An example of this is the browser market which is dead. Once upon a time there was a company that made money from producing a web browser, now that company is irrelevant because MS included a browser in the OS. Even worse is there have been many great ideas and improvements in browsers but they are irrelevant because MS included IE. It comes down to the fact that most users are lazy and don't understand the difference between one product to the other. The IE browser is slow non-standards compliant bloat ware yet it is the most popular because it is already installed and intergraded with windows. The same thing is happening with WMP, I even heard a guy say the other day "you need XP in order to do multimedia" that's the mindset that is forming and it's wrong. It's not that I care about Real, it's that I don't want to get stuck with WMP and have it never get better like IE.....
