I like the security of using Linux.
It appears that malware just hits a stone wall with Linux because of the protected root. Linux is my choice for purchasing online or using online banking. I use Firefox with XP anyway, so there is no difference at all. I've seen too many zero-day exploits with XP this past year and the fixes are usually late in coming. I found users get completely run over with malware even when using the Automatic Updates, spyware protection and firewalls. As far as Office is concerned, the OpenOffice works very well and adjustments are minor. It will be interesting to watch security issues as Vista is deployed. Perhaps we will see an improvement in the coming year.
