People tend to jump at anything that's free... big deal.
To give away 30,000 copies of anything these days is not saying much. If it's free, they come out of the woodwork. That's true with just about anything.

I get rid of a lot of crap that way. Some old concrete blocks stored in my garage were annoying. Put them curbside with a "free" sign on them. They were gone in three hours. Same with some old wooden steps. People didn't want them because they were necessarily valuable. They wanted them because they were free.
