meaningless formulas
You reply looks impressive with formula's and everything but is complete BS. The exhaustion of earth?s carbon based fuels has been the hobgoblin of the environmental movement since I was a child (I work in a gas station when gas sold for $0.50 per gallon) and yet we know the location of more coal and oil today than we did when I started driving. As for the cost of fossil fuels, adjusted for inflation gas is cheaper today than it was when I graduated from high school.

Like so many on your side, you sing the praises of ?renewable energy? and call for government subsidies (i.e. transfers of wealth from taxpayers) to fund new energy development (i.e. approved environmentalist run energy projects). My question is why do you need government funding? If these projects have such high rate of return on investment why do they need to be funded by the taxpayers? Why isn?t the Sierra Club & other environmental groups dumping millions of dollars into these projects, when they blossom into founts of endless wealth these groups could then buy all the oil companies for pennies on the dollar and fire all of the evil executives that have run them all these years?

The fact is, to date no one has demonstrated an economically viable alternative to fossil fuels. Why? Because they are so damn cheap. This is why environmentalist approved alternatives require subsidies while add costs (taxes & regulation) are heaped on their competitors.

As for Global Warming; yes the globe is warming, we are exiting a period of global cooling. A thousand years ago when the Norse sailed to Greenland it was arable farm land, today it is 80% ice. Why? Because the global temperatures are lower today than they were a thousand years ago. No one knows for sure why global temperatures rose in the 1st and 9th century and dropped in the 5th and 14th century, there are assorted theories but industrialization can?t be the cause of these temperature changes because all of them occurred prior to man?s adopting evil fossil fuel based technology.

In conclusion I say relax, history actually shows that periods of warming have always been positive for man and I expect that this period of global warming will be also. Even the doomsayers of the environmental movement will come out of this fine, no one has held any of their previous erroneous predictions against them I don?t expect that this one will be held against them either.
