A fine line but valid point!
The fine line is the violence done for food is not the same as violence for thrills or pleasure or revenge. Also in modern society, we don't kill our own food. I do, I still hunt dress preserve and skin my own food. I do seasonal hunting because I enjoy the fresh tast of venision or elk, rabbit, duck and quail.

The fine line is that when I am hunting I am not doing so for pleasure but for food. Before you reply with I can get my food in the store so therefore hunting is not required. You would be correct, except what I get in the store has been tainted with chemicals and steroids. The meat I hunt is about as fresh and clean as I can find. So there is a motive and reason.

Do I enjoy killing animals? Not really but I do it as a form of survival. Do I really need to eat meat? Actually no, with the medical advice and nutritional guides out there is it possible to survive on a low meat to no meat diet. But I was raised on a farm and this is my diet.

The instinct to kill for food is inherent, but the animals are not killing for fun or revenge. There have been some occassions where wild animals have gone on killing sprees, but examination found they were ill and in some cases had a swelling of the brain from hydro-phobia. Clearly mental instability drove them, just like in the human mind they are finding that a chemical imbalance can cause excessive violent behaviour.
