So you agree with us in that
it's not neccesarily the games fault? At least that is what I am lead to believe. If you read the parent post I identify the problem lies elsewhere, violent games only can only exacerbate an already morally depraved individuals state of mental being.

For about 5-10% (and this is really a guestimate...) of the people out there that enact violent behaviour, there is a real chemical imbalance in the brain. They really cannot be helped without serious medication.

The remainder have a mean streak in them that is nurtured and allowed to grow from when they are children. It starts in the womb. Neglect of a person and denial of non-sexual affection is a catalyst for future behaviour patterns that can lead to self destruction or extroverted violence against others. Many times people ask why a particular person was murdered, the answer generally if you are willing to really dig deep is because that person was representative of either what was denied or what caused the emotional pain.

Americans still deny that the "Stand on your own two feet" mentallity creates just as many criminals as it creates successful people. And how success is defined and achieved plays a huge role as well.

In a nut shell, yes people are responsible for thier actions (with the minority noted above) and should be held so. But also keep in mind, their caregivers are also accountable for failure to nurture in a positive and loving way. So it is a double edged sword.
