While the games are not soley to blame
they do assist with the de-humanizing and de-sensitizing of killing and war. This is how you make future warriors in today's age. BUT the games are not the sole source of the problem. You will notice that many of these people come from broken or unhappy homes. It's easy to blame a game than to accept the fact the initial failure started at home with the lack of strong family ethics, values and ties.

Even the kids in the wealthy families are affected. How so you ask? Simple, wealth does not equate to happiness. These kids are negleted as well. They do not get the positive attention all children need to grow into healthy adults. Many cases are found to have these children given everything so the experience of having to work for something is terrifying to them.

I could elaborate more, but space is limited and even I hate ready long diatribes from people. Bottom line it's not 100% the games fault, I am sure it does play into it but look at the family first. You may find all sorts of skeletons in the closet.
