Clearly, this is the way it is now
early adopters and 'must-have-it' for status people are going to pay whatever the markup, or pay people to camp out for their box. Everybody else will have to wait for Sony or said company to say they've met their build quota and can ship reasonable amounts so that other consumers can purchase a non-bundled console from the comfort of their couch or more noteably, at a store. When PS2 came out, same deal. It was released, too few were available, people were camped out, vouchers flew, people hoped that voucher holders wouldn't return, stores shifted supply, people were texting/phoning different locations trying to zero in on available stock, . . . . several months later, PS2's are stacked on shelves and floors, a few takers here and there but the bloodlust to buy them all had subsided. It was a normal machine again, . . not a Cabbage Patch Doll, a Beanie Baby, a Tickle Me Elmo, . . must kill the next consumer so I can get mine demon.

Maybe I'll buy mine next November, when the best unit is about a hundred dollars cheaper and a whole catalog of PS3 games are available and reviewed for quality.
